Sunday's hike still is to Maple Valley with Jim Thomas. The Yonge Subway line will be shut down between Bloor and Eglinton this weekend. This will be replaced by bus service. Please allow extra time to reach Yonge and York Mills,

We are still working on our schedule. We start this Sunday with an easy hike at Mount Nemo.

Our first hike for Fall 2011 will be next weekend, Sunday September 11, to Mount Nemo.

We are starting work on our Fall 2011 schedule. Our first hike of the fall probably will be on Sunday September 11.

This coming Saturday August 13 is our long hike to Petroglyphs park. Soon, we will start working on our fall schedule. Keep watching this space.
Tuesday June 28
Our spring hiking is over. Our next official event is Petroglyphs on August 15. Meanwhile, I plan on exploring a couple of new hikes. I plan to take the coming July 1 weekend off. On the subsequent weekend, if you want to hike, and you do not mind the hike leader being lost, you can click on Howard Gibson and we can sort something out.
Tuesday June 21
Our last scheduled hike of the season is Sunday, June 26, with a hike to Cheltenham Badlands with hike leader Robert Freeman. We still have scheduled a day trip to Petroglyphs, north of Peterborough. Webmaster Howard Gibson is planning to scout out some potential new hikes over the next couple of weeks, so if you still want to get out and hike, click on the webmaster link, below, and leave a message.

Tuesday June 7
On Sunday, we are hiking at Waterdown East with leader Bill Baird. We will meet at Yonge and York Mills at the usual time.
Wednesday June 1
This weekend, we are hiking Pretty River, with leader Andrea Moses. This is a long drive, so we are doing it on Saturday. We can linger up there an have fun.
Wednesday May 25
This coming Sunday is our city, Doors Open hike with Andria Hourwich. We will not be meeting at Yonge and York Mills. Please read our directions. We have changed the date for next weekend's hike to Pretty River. It is a long way to Singhampton. On Saturday, we can take our time, and have fun.
Monday May 16
For this coming weekend, we have changed our destination. Jim Thomas is still our leader. It is still on Monday, because it is a long weekend. We are now doing Glen Haffy South.
Saturday May 14
As of 8:30pm this evening, it is raining. It has been raining most of the day. Gerry Dombrowe and I have discusse this, and we have decided that it is too wet to hike safety on the escarpment. Our Sunday May 15 hike to Rattlesnake Point is canceled. Hopefully, we will get better weather next week.

Sunday is Mother's day, so we are hiking on Saturday. For once, it looks like the weather is going to cooperate with us. This weekend, it will rain on Sunday. Saturday's hike is to Niagara Gorge with Robert Freeman.

However nasty people thought the weather would be last week, a bunch of people showed up for Alton, and we spent most of the day in sunshine. Your next chance at a nice hike is this coming Sunday, at Scotsdale Farm with Ian Tytler.
Wednesday April 20
This coming Thursday, April 21 is Fun In The Sun Night, held by the High Park Ski Club's at the Lithuanian Hall at 1573 Bloor Street West. This is on the south side of the street, a couple of blocks west of the Dundas West subway station. Since this is Easter weekend, a lot of people will be busy on Sunday. We will hike Saturday, to Alton Grange with hike leader Howard Gibson.

We had a nice group out last Sunday in spite of the threatening weather. Now for some serious hiking. Bill Baird's hike this coming Sunday is Seven Waterfalls in the Dundas Valley area.

We are just starting up our schedule for Spring 2011. Our first hike probably will be on Sunday, April 3. The first item to appear on our schedule is a Dundas Waterfalls hike on Sunday, April 17, thanks to Bill Baird.

This coming Sunday, we are hiking at Dundas Valley with Bob Freeman. We have a hike for the subsequent Sunday, November 28, thanks to Bill Baird. Check out our Schedule for more information. We will continue to use our Sunday pickup at Yonge and York Mills.

This Sunday's hike is to Humber Valley Heritage Trail with Howard Gibson. We will use our regular Sunday pickup at Yonge and York Mills, at 10:00am.
Saturday November 6
Don't forget to roll your clocks back Saturday night. Otherwise, you will have a long wait at Yonge and York Mills for our hike to Rouge Valley.
Tuesday November 2
This coming Sunday is our hike to Rouge Valley with Andria Hourwich. Since this is Sunday, we are back to picking up at Yonge and York Mills. Since Rouge Valley is very close, we are picking up at 10:30am.
Tuesday October 26
This weekend's hike is on Saturday. We are doing our Jordan Wine Tour. Your hike leader will be webmaster Howard Gibson. This is a rather long drive, and you want to be home on Sunday anyway, to greet tricker treaters. Since parking is difficult at Yonge and York Mills on Saturday, we are going to pickup at Wilson Station.

This coming Sunday, we are hiking east of the city at Seaton Trail with Cathy MacDougall. We continue to carpool from Yonge and York Mills.

Our next hike is on Sunday, and it is to Rattlesnake Point with Gerry Dombrower. We are carpooling from Yonge and York Mills.

For Thanksgiving weekend, we are hiking on the Monday. Our destination is Terra Cotta, and our leader is Jim Thomas. We still are carpooling from Yonge and York Mills.
Tuesday September 28
This coming weekend's hiking is on Saturday, not Sunday. It is a long drive to Niagara Gorge, but well worth it. The scenery down there is spectacular. The leader is Bill Baird. Yonge and York Mills still is our pickup point.
Wednesday September 22
This Saturday is the Hiking Biking party we share with Toronto High Park Bicycle Club. We hope to see you at the Rose and Crown, 2335 Yonge Street at 8:00pm. We even have a live rock band. Sunday's hike is to Pretty River with Andrea Moses. This is a long drive, but the fall colours should be starting out up there. You do not want to miss it. The area is very hilly, but the pace will be gentle, suitable for the day after a party. We are contining to pick up at Yonge and York Mills.

This Sunday's will will be to Chelteham Badlands, led by Bob Freeman. We are still picking up at Yonge and York Mills.

We are filling in the schedule. This Sundays hike is to Forks of the Credit, led by Howard Gibson. Yes, we are climbing Devil's Pulpit!

We are still working on the schedule. Next weekend's hike is to Forks of the Credit with Howard Gibson. Make a note in your calendar for the hiking biking party, Saturday September 25 at the Rose and Crown.
Thursday September 2
We are still picking up at Yonge and York Mills. We are watching what is happening with the TTC parking lot there. This Sunday's hike is to Maple Valley, with Jim Thomas.

We are working on a Fall schedule. We have scheduled the first two hikes. We will start our season at Maple Valley, this coming Sunday.
Monday July 19
High Park Ski Club is running a Hike/Bike/Golf Lunch. Non-members are welcome, and the hiking club is helping out.
Friday June 25
This Saturday is our last hike of the season, to Pretty River, with Andrea Moses. We are watching the weather, as it is likely to rain tomorrow. We recommend everybody shows up at Yonge and York Mills. We will then decide what to do based on the latest information. We have been very lucky so far this season, running hikes in threatening weather.

This Sunday's destiation is Durham Forest, with Cathy MacDougall. We have our destination worked out for the last weekend of June. The trip is on Saturday June 26, and it is to Pretty River, led by Andrea Moses.
Sunday June 13
Five hardy hikers showed up at Yonge and York Mills. We decided to hike. We hiked, and it did not rain! We have a destination and a leader for next Sunday. It is Durham Forest, and our hike leader is Cathy MacDougall.
Friday June 11 10:00pm
Saturday's hike to Hoggs and Eugenia Falls, is tentatively canceled due to the predicted thunderstorms. A couple of us will show up at Yonge and York Mills just in case the weather improves. At this time, we strongly recommend not driving straight up to the hike.

Once again, the weather worked out for the brave souls who showed up for the Cheltonham hike. Next week, we hike on Saturday, all the way up to Hoggs and Eugenia Falls, with leader Alan Backlund.

This Sunday's hike is to Cheltenham Badlands with hike leader Bob Freeman. Let's hope the weather holds out.

We have worked out our city hike for this coming Sunday. We are hiking in the Don Valley, and checking out a few Doors Open locations, with leader Andria Hourwich.
Friday May 21
For the coming Victoria Day weekend, we are hiking on Monday. The destination is Hockley Valley, with Jim Thomas. This will be on the south side of the valley, so read the driving instructions carefully.
Friday May 14
This Saturday is the biking, hiking Spring Party at the Sports Café. On Sunday, we are hiking to Dundas Valley with Jennifer Rowbotham, and, finally, with predicted sunshine.
Friday May 7
This coming Sunday is Mother's Day, so we are hiking on Saturday. Our last two hikes have been on days predicted to be rainy, and so far, we have not been rained on. Let's see if Bill Baird can keep this up at Royal Botannical Gardens. Next week is the Spring Party at the Sports Cafe at Yonge and Saint Clair.

In spite of the nasty weather forecasts last week, we had a bunch of hikers out for Kilgorie Pine River. There was not a drop of rain. This week, we are hiking at Speyside with Ian Tytler. The weather reports are not promising, so bring something waterproof. These things work out.

We appreciate all of you who came out on FITS night. We are hiking at Kilgorie Pine River, just north of last week's hike. The hike leader is Howard Gibson.

Lots happening this week. We hope to see you Thursday evening for High Park Ski Club's Fun In The Summer Night. We are ready to sign up new members. We have schedules. We even have an excellent hike for next weekend -- Primrose Boyne River with hike leader Jim Thomas. There is yet another High Park Ski Club event you may be interested in, The Montreal Jazz Festival This event is run by HPSC, but it is open to non-members.

This Sunday is our first hike of the season, to Alton. We are not yet ready to sign up new members. We will be set up for this next Thursday at High Park Ski Club's Fun In The Summer Night. As usual, we will be carpooling at Yonge and York Mills at 10:00am Sunday. We look forward to seeing you!

We are getting ready for High Park Ski Club's Fun In The Summer Night. The event will be held at the Lithuanian Hall, at 1573 Bloor Street West, on Thursday night, April 15. We will be there along with a whole bunch of other clubs, so sign up members and hand out schedules.
Tuesday December 15
Our 2009 season is over. Thank you everyone who showed up to hike. Thank you to our hike leaders, and thank you to Ron Kwan, our outgoing president. We will see you next next April. We will be signing up new members at High Park Ski Club's FITS Night 2010Apr15.

Good news! The hiking season is not over yet. Jim Thomas has offered to lead a hike this Sunday at Glen Haffy.

This coming Sunday, you can sleep in half and hour. We plan to leave Yonge and York Mills at 10:30 am, to head for Rouge Valley in east Scarborough, not a very long trip.

This Sunday's hike (September 20) now is to Alton with webmaster Howard Gibson. This time, the weather should be good. Next Sunday, we are going to Rouge Valley, with Andria Hourwich. This is not a picnic hike, so we do not need to hang around the parking lot. We should see some new stuff this time.

This website has a new look! The navigation has been improved a bit, and, hopefully, it looks a little better. Also, we have started our Fall Schedule. Our first hike will be on Sunday September 13.

Jennifer Rowbotham has volunteered to lead a hike to Webster's Falls. That, probably, will conclude our hiking season until the fall. Keep an eye on this website, just in case.
