Humber Valley Old Mill Picnic Hike

You must register for this. Call Andria at 416.921.5531 by 10:00am Saturday May 23. Please leave your name and phone number. If you miss this deadline, call Andria anyway. She may be able to accomodate you. Andria's answering machine has a man's voice.

We meet at the Etienne Brule Park parking lot at 10:30am. Do not go to York Mills.

Andria is looking for someone with a car in the Avenue Road and Davenport area. She would appreciate a lift to the park.

Directions

From the Old Mill subway station

  1. Exit the station at the west end and walk north to Old Mill road.
  2. Turn right (east) onto Old Mill road.
  3. Pass the Old Mill and its parking lot.
  4. Go down the hills and cross the bridge.
  5. The Etienne Brule parking lot is on the far side of the river, to your left.

Driving on Bloor Street from the east

  1. Just after you pass Jane Street, turn right onto the Old Mill Drive.
  2. Turn left onto Catherine Road and immediately turn right into the Etienne Brule parking lot.

Driving on Bloor Street from the west

  1. After you cross Royal York, you will see a traffic light at Kingsway and Old Mill Road.
  2. Drive past this and turn left at the next intersection to get onto Old Mill Road.
  3. Pass the Old Mill and its parking lot.
  4. Go down the hills and cross the bridge.
  5. The Etienne Brule parking lot is on the far side of the river, to your left.

We will go hikein the morning to the waterfront and return to the parking lot for lunch. In the afternoon, we go north to St. James Gardens (flowers, wedding photographs) and then back to the parking lot. The terrain is mostly easy, with a few climbs to lookout points.

If you did not call to register for this, you can still come. You will have to pack a lunch.
